We had the pleasure and opportunity to welcome documentary photographer Núria Lopez Torres to the faculty. The photographer gave a talk and lecture to the students of the Visual Anthropology course in the Social and Cultural Anthropology degree program.
Nuria López Torres, a Barcelona-based documentary photographer with extensive experience in the field, is renowned for her work documenting social issues such as human rights, women, gender, and identity. This is particularly meaningful today, November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
She has received awards such as the POY Latam in the Health category in 2021 and the POY Latam in the Long Multimedia category in 2019.
This event took place in relation to the film by Amanda Bernal and Roger Canals, which explores the work and practice of various documentary photographers.
